EOTD 06.15.11

OMG Zombies!!!!!! Thats what I felt like going with today. I recently splatter painted my nails with a blood type pattern (as seen below) in my excitement for the new season of True Blood to start and I just felt like doing something Zombie inspired today.
I used LA Colors color craze in White & Zoya Isla to create this mani

Now I wanted this to be fairly wearable. I was going to a couple appointments today and I didn't wanna actually look TOO scary. Just INSPIRED by zombies, not to actually look like one. Today, anyway. >.< LoL. So, this is what I've used for this look:

Geek Chic- Ugghhh... Brains -all over lid & blended inside crease
Face Candy Couture- Leaves - Crease
Geek Chic- Galactically Banned Ale - outside edge of lid blended into lid color
BFTE- Butt Naked- Highlight

Indoor/Artificial Light

Natural Light

So what's been inspiring your looks lately? Are any of you excited for the new season of True Blood? I am reading the books also, I'm currently on book #6 Definitely Dead, so I'm ahead of the TV show, but only about half way through the current book series. I can say for sure that while similar, you get a lot of major differences between the books and show, It's kinda neat, since I'm really enjoying both to get 2 different stories with the same characters. It makes things interesting.  Hope you are all enjoying your week!

On a personal note: I'm going away this weekend so I'll be gone roughly 4 days or so. My brother in law is returning from another tour in Afghanistan this weekend so we will be welcoming him home. I'm sure his 2 little ones are super excited to have Dad home just in time for fathers day. :)

EOTD 01.21.11

Wowzers! Two EOTD back to back? This one feels sort of early..its been SUPER rainy here lately. Yeah, yeah I know, that's what I get for living in Seattle. :D Quiet yous! But anyway, it reminds me of spring and Easter and that makes me happy. I am using Face Candy Couture for the majority of this look. I used Caribbean Dream all over the lid, followed by Sabrina in an arc above, and another arc of Damask Grey on top of that. I also used Sabrina under the lower lash line. I love Caribbean Dream, its a very creamy type teal/aqua. I got a bit more fall out with this color than with the other colors I've used of theirs though. But well worth it for the color payoff. Please excuse my dry lids.. it IS still winter.. and no matter how much moisturizer I use, it doesn't get any better than this!

What is your favorite eye cream? Do you have any suggestions for my poor dry eye lids? Have you tried Face Candy Couture? What is your favorite green eyeshadow?

Happy Birthday To Me!

Well.. my *garbled/muffled age* birthday just came to an end. Thanks so much to my family who made it so nice! I just got done playing DJ Hero 2 (I got the first one on my last birthday) and its just as much fun as the first one, if not more so. I love that you have a lot more ability to mix things yourself. But I still think it's missing a "create your own DJ" feature as well as I don't like that they pulled back on the ability to customize your tables as much. Thanks mucho to my hubby who got it for me.

We went out to dinner (yummy Italian food), and I was in a hurry to get out the door. Did a really super fast EOTBD (eye of the birth-day! lol) today. Here I've used Face Candy Couture shadow in Seed all over the eyelid and as under eyeliner and then added the darkest shade of brown from the Wet'nWild Golden Goddess palette in a "c" shape in the outer corner & in the crease. The lightest cream/off white shade from this palette was also used as the highlight.

Happy Birthday to me!

EOTD 01.08.11

Hello again! I just wanted to quickly update and show my EOTD look using my new Face Candy Couture mineral shadows. Here im using FCC in Carnival and Sabrina. The highlight is the lightest shade from the Wet'nWild Golden Goddess palette. I love how this turned out, I originally got these colors to go together. I know.. green & purple, im a weirdo.. but I really LOVE lime green and purple together.

What do you think?

Excuse my unkempt brows. As you know I've been having eye troubles lately.

Plucked a bit so I can stand it. Hey.. Look at the makeup!

Face Candy Couture Winnings

So thankfully my eyes are looking better today. Plus my goodies from Face Candy Couture came in the mail last night. Now, I will have some new "toys" to play with for my birthday on Monday! Woot!

Right before the new year, I entered a contest hosted by the lovely Jamie over at Rural Glamour Beauty , and sponsored by FCC. Can you believe I actually won! Squeeee! I was elated. The prize was my choice of 4 of the 3 gram jars of their mineral shadows, and after seeing the swatches going around on everyone I couldn't wait to get mine!

So lets get down to the pretties! The 4 colors I ended up picking were:

Barbie Glam

Described as: a sexy perfect pink color with lots of silver shimmer.
Caribbean Dream
Described as: a bright aqua color with yummy shimmer and a tropical look.

Carnival
Described as: a sexy fun deeper purple with shimmer.
Sabrina
Described as: a darker lime green with the prettiest golden iridescent undertones.

It was honestly really hard for me to pick just 4 colors! They have a wide variety of colors to choose from and whats even better is that most of them have swatches listed for them as well. I'm sure you guys know how helpful that is when ordering anything from a website.

After receiving the package, I opened it to find a note from Shantle Shipp the owner of the company congratulating me on my win (how sweet!) and a hand written note stating that because they were out of the smaller jars, a few of my shadows had been upgraded in size. Yay!  (Thats A+ in my book for customer service. Instead of making me wait till they had the smaller size in stock they shipped my order. This equals HUGE kudos for her. Not because of the free product.. although I'm happy to have it, but because it meant neither of us were playing the waiting game.. which as everyone knows, isn't a fun game to play.) It also included a business card (love the colorful logo), and a few samples of the colors: Clarissa, Seed, Blended and Leaves. I was really excited to see Blended in there, as that was one of the big contenders I was leaning towards when picking out my winnings.
Comes in  nice sifter jars so you don't waste product! (This is Carnival)

Swatches on bare skin, dry, no base/primer. (Barbie Glam is coming off a tad orange here sorry)

See how they sparkle! Oooohhh Ahhhh!

After swatching these I could tell right away I was going to have a hard time deciding on a favorite. Carnival and Sabrina are just to DIE for. Srsly.

The colors are not only beautiful, but they are highly pigmented and go on very velvety. It looks like currently they only sell one size (5 gram jar) of their mineral eye shadow, and it sells for $4.99, which in my opinion is very reasonable. It also seems that the majority, if not all of (I wasn't able to look at EVERY color) the pigments can be applied to the eyes, nails, face and lips which is awesome. (Check the individual colors to ensure specific application areas for that particular color)   All in all, my experience with this company has been a good one. I look forward to placing an order with them again in the near future. I am very excited to run off and play with these some more now.

Thanks again to Face Candy Couture and Rural Glamour Beauty for having the contest.

Looks using Face Candy Couture mineral eye shadows are coming soon!
