EOTD 02.26.12 Mad Unicorn Pee

Good News Everyone! A new EOTD!

Today's eye started with a little inspiration from Nicki Minaj. I first saw it looking for inspiration for my last look. HOLY MOLY.. have you seen the way she wears yellow? Yeah.. that's my AWE face. LOL! I don't generally take inspiration from celebrities. But when I saw that blue/ purple gradient from her Super Bass video my heart skipped a beat. This is just inspired by her look, I don't have professional MUA skills plus I don't have any mattes, so instead I used lots of shimmery metallics and glitters. It looks really sparkly and pretty in person. However my photography skills have yet to improve enough to capture the beauty of holo glitter on camera.. but believe me when I say the portion of this look that includes unicorn pee is a FABULOUS GLITTER BOMB! :D

What I used:
NYX Jumbo Pencil: Milk - White base
Beauty From the Earth: Butt Naked - Highlight & inner 1/2 lower lash line
My Pretty Zombie: Unicorn Pee - Inner 1/3 lid/crease
Sugarpill ChromaLust: Starling - Middle 1/3 lid/crease
My Pretty Zombie: Mad Cow - Outer 1/3 lide crease
Beauty From the Earth: Midnight Kisses - outer 1/2 lower lash line flicked out to wing
Maybelline The Falsies Volum Express Mascara: Very Black
ELF Liquid Eyeliner: #4203 black - eyeliner + wing
NYX Jumbo Pencil: Milk - waterline
Brazen Cosmetics: Peep Show - lips

Indoor Lighting
Natural Light

The only photo where the holo glitter showed at all.

So hope your weekends are going well. Mine is going pretty good too thanks! The power company is coming in and doing some work on Tuesday this week. This means at minimum the power will be off for 8 hours. So my question for you all is WHAT the heck do you do when the power is out? I need lots of ideas! That's a long time without heat, heated food, light, internet, etc... Thanks for looking!

EOTD 08.01.11 Snake Battery

Hello again!

Here is the EOTD I did to kick off August. I wanted something super dark and gothy today! I think this turned out pretty good. I felt awesome wearing it. Its one of those looks you have to be confident wearing or it won't work for you. It also looked pretty snazzy with my hair which is also black & blue. (I didn't get photos of it though, darn too fast with the cam .. you know how it goes.)  Anyway, here it is.. enjoy! :D

What I used:

TFSI (Primed)
ELF - Waterproof Eyeliner Pen : Outline of blackened area & bottom lash liner
Maybelline - Eyestudio Gel liner (blackest black) : even coat for base color of blackened area
NYX - Jumbo Pencil (Milk) : top base color for highlight area
Milani - Liquif'eye metallic eye liner pencil (01 black) : water line & smudged down to meet bottom lash liner
Rimmel - Sexy Curves Mascara (003 extreme black) : top & bottom lashes
(not a big fan of this product, just used it cuz it didnt matter due to the fact that I was using falsies)
Daiso Voluminous Type False Lashes (#10)
Geek Chic Cosmetics - Solid Snake : All over lid (over black base)
Geek Chic Cosmetics - Mana Battery : Highlight above crease to brow (over white base)

So that's it from me! Thank you all for looking! Hope you guys are doing good. What color/s do you tend to rock when you wanna be noticed? Would you leave the house wearing this look? (& not on Halloween!) Later Gators!

EOTD 06.30.11 Rainy Day

Hey there guys!

I wore this look a couple days ago. I was inspired by the rainy day, October-like weather we were having at the time. Seems odd to write this now with as warm and sunny as it is today but oh well! My husband said "If rain could wear make up, this is what it would wear" So without further ado, my rainy day end of June look.

Natural Light
With Flash, Indoor Lighting
A different Angle (Natural Light)
You can see all 4 colors perfectly here.
Blurred to show Glitter "rain drops"

Staring longingly out the window as it rains
What I used:
Geek Chic Cosmetics Glass Cannon - All over lower lid area
Geek Chic Cosmetics Fear Bomb-  Crease & slightly above
Geek Chic Cosmetics Purity Burns - mid-Crease over fear bomb to create a fogginess.
BFTE Butt Naked- Highlight
Unmarked white with silver glitter pigment. - top of highlight & inner crease for glitter "rain drops"

Lippie- Dark Heart Designs - Love Song

I thought the glitter was a nice touch. Since to me, raindrops glimmer on the skin as well. And let me tell you something, EVERYTIME I break out Glass Cannon I'm reminded that I need to buy a full size of it. Its such a wonderful blue!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Make sure you say Hi! and before you leave, if you could please tell me your current favorite facial moisturizer that would be great! Im having some MASSIVE dry skin all over my face and I can't seem to get rid of it.

EOTD 06.13.11 Frakkin Glass Cannon

Heres a quickie post for you guys today! :D Another look featuring the fab Geek Chic Cosmetics. Loving these colors together. And I really love how the colors are winged out at the outside edge of the eye for this one. :D

I achieved this look using :

Geek Chic- Glass Cannon- all over lid & inner half of underline
Geek Chic- Frakkin Toaster- Crease & outer half of underline
BFTE- Butt Naked- Highlight
Geek Chic- Mana Battery- inner corner sparkly

So I have to say I never thought I'd enjoy a baby blue as much as I loved this. Its very cool looking. Especially when paired with something dark and smokey. So what do you guys think? I've also been hauling some OHWTO lately. Trying out the black magic soap... so we'll see how that goes. Loving the scent sticks I got. My favorite has to be Carnivale, and best of all my husband loves it too!

Have you tried OHWTO? Is there anything I MUST smell when she gets back up and running? (I currently have coven, carnivale, pink lady, vanillology1 & yuzu) Thanks for stopping by! *hugs*

EOTD 05.25.11

Today I wanted to try out my Brazen pigments today.  I got the LE Spring Lovelies collection. It comes with a purple shade, blue shade and a light lime green shade.

I used:

Too Face Shadow Insurance
Nyx jumbo pencil- Milk
Brazen- Visionary - all over lid
Brazen Clarity- crease
Face Candy Couture- Carnival- Outer V
BFTE- Crystal- inner corners/tear duct area
BFTE Butt Naked- Highlight

Just a quickie today guys. I really thought this was too bright when I first put it on, but when I got home and checked myself in the mirror, It had grown on me. I was in love with this look. It was so pretty and pastel and it ended up being the perfect spice of color to add to this grey & wet Seattle day.

So hows the weather in your necks of the woods? Anyone ready for summer yet? *grins*

**EDIT** In my blaze to get this posted quickly I seem to have forgotten to thank Christa @ Play Hard Look Fabulous for hosting the giveaway in which I won these pretties. SO sorry!! Thank you hunnie! You are amazing!

EOTD 03.31.11 & 04.01.11

Hi-diddly-ho, neighborinos!

I just wanted to quickly post a few photos while I have a moment! Here are a few EOTD I've done using my newly obtained BFTE minerals. I really love them. The first look I had to do because well, my favorite color is purple. So I needed to try a few of those out first. This is what I ended up using for 3.31.

Highlight- Butt Naked
Inner 1/3 lid & Tear duct area- Crystal
Middle lid- Grape
Outer 1/3 Lid- Rome
I also was trying out ELF's liquid eyeliner in 4203 Black, and I was pretty happy with the results considering it only cost me a dollar. Woot! We'll see how it handles over time though.

The 2nd days look was based pretty much on the weather. It was a soggy, grey day here in Seattle on April Fools day, no joke! So I wanted something that represented the overcast day, but with a spark of color in there. This is what I came up with.

Highlight- Butt Naked
Inner Corner- Peacock
3/4 lid & crease- Bondage
I also made Peacock into a frankenliner. So pretty!
This one shows the shimmer in Bondage a little better than the photo below.

Also, I didn't forget about my awesome hair accessory post, I just have been a little busy lately. Mr.KittyKaBoom and I recently adopted a new baby kitten into our family and she's a HANDFUL! Adorable, but truly testing my ability to function without sleep. Haha.. So I promise to have the new post up within the next few days along with a couple pix of the little one as well. Hope you all are having a great weekend!

Black & Blue

Ok.. so first things first. I have been dying hair & practicing cosmetology for over 15 years. Just to get it out of the way, YOU may have different results using these same products. I know what works for MY hair, and the opinions stated below are my own. If you like the results, and want to try them out, please be aware results may vary and you play at your own risk! :D (image of the sign in Rocky Horror comes to mind ) tee-hee! Thanks guys.

So on with it then. This is what I've used this time:
1 tint brush
1 tint bowl
2 pair gloves
1 RGC packette
1 packette Prism Lights blue lightener (bleach)
roughly 3.5 oz 40 Vol creme developer (peroxide) *please be aware anything stronger than 30 vol should typically NOT be used on the scalp
1 box Feria #21
1 bottle SE Hair Dye Blue Velvet

My hair is naturally dark brown, and when I bleach out it pulls INSANE amounts of red. As I wanted my blue color to be blue and not turn purple because of the gold tones bleach pulls with my natural hair color, I took 2 steps to ensure I had a cool toned result. #1. I used a blue based lightner & #2. I used RGC in my lightening mixture. I first sectioned off any hair I wanted blue, and mixed up the lightener. I applied the mixture to the sectioned off areas and covered those areas with foil.  I did NOT use bleach on my scalp, I applied to about 1/2" above the scalp & covered the rest of the hair shaft down to the scalp with black dye. I like the way this blends the colors together.
Feria #21 Starry Night
While I was waiting for my bleach to develop I mixed and applied the Feria hair dye, as per the included instructions. The color I used was #21, Starry Night. I've used this shade many times before and really like the blue base it has. I think a blue based black looks totally unnatural, but gives a bit of a shinyness? to the color that I really enjoy. And .. I'm really not going for "natural" here .. so its all good.  It covers greys nicely (not that I have any... haha.. right!) and has pretty nice staying power before it starts to dull.

I left my color & bleach to develop for roughly 50-60 mins and rinsed the black until the water was clear, before removing the foils and rinsing the bleached sections out as well.

The blue color I chose was from a dye brand I adore. Special Effects Hair Dye in Blue Velvet. I've always had such WONDERFUL results with them. I think I have used nearly every color they offer in their line as well. I'm a pretty big fan, and the only other "primary" color dyes I will use are made by Fudge. Believe me, I've tried them all..Again.. please keep in mind, this is only what I have personally experienced. My hair .. it likes Special Effects dye.

A bit about the dye based on personal opinion: 1) when it fades, it fades to pretty colors. 2) stays in a decent amount of time, as long as you know how to deal with color treated (demi/semi perm) dyes. 3) vibrant colors, (omg the yellow.. is SICK I got so many compliments on it when I used that one.) 4.) NOT TESTED ON ANIMALS! Yay!

And here are the results I ended up with.

So.. what do you think? Have you used Special Effects dye before? Do you feel comfortable coloring your hair at home, or do you get it done at a salon?

EOTD 02.26.11

Here is my EOTD for today. It was also what I have submitted to be part of the giveaway that Ashley is having currently. You can see the deets in the video here: Ashley's 21st BDay/100 Fan Giveaway . She wanted something sparkly. I thought it should be vivid but wearable since she will be wearing it for a party. Plus I thought it would look cool under different sorts of lighting, since that green is pretty neon :D  Anyway.. here is what I came up with. Its kind of a swirly design with a double winged liner. This would be even better with a pair of falsies I think. What do you guys think? What is your favorite sparklyest eyeshadow?  And hello to you and thanks for stopping by if you are one of my new followers/friends! /wave!

I made the silver sparkle liner. Not half as nice in photos as was in person.

blurred for sparklyness. Still doesn't show up as good as IRL
