EOTD: 04.12.13 Black Savage

Good News Everyone! A new EOTD!

Today I went for something a little dolly goth. I really love how it turned out. The next time I do something like this I think I'll try a nice harsh outside edge to define a neat geometrical shape :D Just took a few quick snapshots today to get something posted cuz it's been far too long!

What I used:
Darling Girl Cosmetics: Sweet Savage - lid
Darling Girl Cosmetics: Black Forest - inner crease on top of black.
BFTE Cosmetics: Black - crease

Physician's Formula Eye Booster 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner + Serum : Ultra Black - Lid Eyeliner
Wet n Wild MegaEyes Crème Eyeliner : Black - Waterline
Maybelline The Mega Plush Volum Express Mascara: Very Black

I really love how Black Forest not only added lovely sparkle to an otherwise purely matte look, but it also transformed the black into a sort of violet shade.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a great weekend!

CopyKat : Colorful Cat Eye

So today my mom (Kat) ,texted me over a couple photos she saw in a Ladies' Home Journal (the Dec 2012-January 2013 issue) . I decided to take her up on the challenge. I'm all about making my Mom happy when I can, especially when she asks me about one of my interests! :D So here's the original look/photos she sent me:

The Ad suggests using CoverGirl Eye Enhancer in French Vanilla for $3.50, Lancome Paris Liner Design in Dress-up Teal $24.50 , Eco Tools Lash System $6.00 and Maybelline Colossal Cat Eyes Volum Express Mascara $8.00.

I didn't have any of that stuff. LoL. So like any good makeup artist would, I rolled with what I had and I actually like how my version turned out better. I didn't end up with a matte result, however if both pigments I had mixed would have been matte Im sure I could have gotten an pretty close to exact match and as a bonus I didn't have to spend 25$ on a single gel liner that'll dry up in a couple months.

Essence Angled Brush $1.99 , Wet N Wild Coloricon in 251A Brulee/Creme Brulee $1.99, My Pretty Zombie in Bettie (full size $5.00 shown here: sample jar) , BFTE in Black (full size $6.50) ,
Wet N Wild MegaEyes Creme Eyeliner in Black 886 $3.99, Too Faced Shadow Insurance $20.00, Maybelline The MegaPlush Volum Express $7.99

I opted for no false lashes as I don't have any right now, and It suggests filling in brows, but I don't generally do that either as my brows are pretty full without product.

I mixed a bit of BFTE in Black pigment with MPZ in Bettie dry like this, to try to achieve the darkend teal color of the original photo.

I slapped on my faithful Too Faced primer, and then applied a wash of Creme Brulee all over the lid. I then applied a base of the black gel liner along the lash line by itself and topped it with the above pigment mixture. Then I applied a few coats of mascara and voila! There you have my copykat eye.

The Original Photo is on the bottom and my version is on the top.
So how do you think I did? Do you prefer the glittery version or would you have liked to see me try this with all mattes? Can you believe that Creme Brulee is too dark for my skin tone?!?! Next time I try something like this I might add some pure white pigment into the shadow as it's painfully obvious I have the complexion of a nightwalker. ;) See you guys next time!

EOTD 11.14.11 Inspired by Siryn

Good News Everyone! A new EOTD!

So last Friday the lovely Siryn Von Steam posted the look she wore to this years Comikaze. Let me tell you. She looked abso-freaking-lutely stunning. I immedately fell in love with the look, and decided I would attempt to recreate it. Siryn has some of the most amazing talent I've seen out there, so this was a challenge for me. Not to mention I've never tried to RECREATE a look EXACTLY. I usually put my own spin on things and such. But I tried to get this one as close as possible. I didn't have the palette she used, but I did the best I could with what I had. I'm pretty happy with the way it came out. :D

Please take a moment to visit her page to see the original look here : Siryn Von Steam Steampunk Look

What I used:
Wet n Wild LE Palette "Golden Goddess": Bottom Right Brown - Crease & 1/2 outside lower lash line
Psyche Minerals: Aerith - Crease (mixed on top of shade above and patted on top for glitter)
Wet n Wild LE Palette "Golden Goddess": Top Left Creamy Champagne - Highlight
Rock A Betty Beauty: Requiem - lid & 1/2 inside lower lash line
Wet n Wild LE Palette "Night Elf": Top Right Silver - Inner corner (tear duct)
Maybelline The Falsies Volum Express Mascara: Very Black
Milani Liquif'eye Metallic Eye Liner Pencil: 01 Black - waterline
Just Pure Minerals: Black Cherry- lips

For some reason I thought u could see the glitter in this photo better?
I think this was a pretty okay first attempt. I needed a richer/ darker brown for my crease color I think. But I haven't really picked up too many fall colors yet, so I'm lacking in that department. I think this is definitely something I will try to do again to try to master. I think its perfect for sweater weather, and goes wonderful with darker eye shades. Thanks for reading :) Hope you are all having a great week!

EOTD 05.29.11 Lollipop Night Elf

Good News Everyone!  A new EOTD!!!

For this look I was going for something a little different. I'm sure all of you know by now I adore lime green and purple together. I've gotta say It's probably my favorite color combination out there. However, because it's my favorite I do it ALLLLLL the time. LoL. I was getting bored with my same stand-bys and decided to try this out. I think it came out really neat! Because of the duo chrome nature of the shadow I used I think it created depth in my look, but also means this post is a little photo heavy. Hope you enjoy!

Can you see the purdy green? Yay!
This photo captures why Lollipop Kid is my FAVORITE BFTE purple
Blurry to capture sparkle of Lollipop Kid & green sheen from NE palette color
They call me Squinty McGee (Lollipop kids true color looks great in this shot!)
Creasing after a couple hours. Sad.
Staring into your soul.
Living is easy with eyes closed.
Silly Me. Smiley you? :D
What I used to create this EOTD:
TFSI
Nyx Jumbo Pencil- Milk

BFTE - Lollipop Kid- all over lid
E.L.F Studio Single Eyeshadow - Charcoal #81130 - Crease base color
Wet N Wild- Night Elf Palette brown/green duo chrome bottom left side - Crease
BFTE- Crystal- Inner corners & lightly applied over highlight color for a tiny bit of sparkle
BFTE - Butt Naked - Highlight

So I've heard (I don't own the original shadow) that the color from the Night Elf palette I've used is a dupe for Too Faced shadow in Label Whore. So thats neato.  I'm really not sure where I got the creasing from. It could be the ELF shadow, I used as a base or it's possible I didn't wait long enough for my ponds cream to soak in before I started priming. Or maybe it was just a humid day here or something. But it DID crease heavily on both eyes I'm guessing around hour 4 or 5 even though I did prime my lids with TFSI.

I used an eye pencil I got from Ulta (Ulta Automatic Eye Liner, Long lasting/ waterproof in the color Indigo) in my waterline and it was gone before I even left my vanity mirror. UGHHH >.< .  It's even swatching patchy on my hand now too. I wonder whats wrong with it. /sigh.
Hope you guys enjoyed this look. I thought it was cool how I essentially got my green and purple fix without it actually being a full on green/purple look! :D

EOTD 05.13.11

Friday the 13th Inspired EOTD.  I went goth/vampy with this one guys.

WnW Holiday Palette in Night Elf
(Red=Middle Right color, Black=Bottom Right color, Silver=Top Right color, Cream=Top Left color)

Red- inner 1/3
BFTE Vixen- outer 2/3 & inner highlight
Black- crease
Silver- inner crease
Cream- Highlight
Silver-tear duct & inner 1/3 under lash line
Black- outer 2/3 under lash line
All shadows over Too Faced shadow insurance & NYX jumbo pencil in Milk

ELF Waterproof Eyeliner Pen (Black)

Beautique Lip Pencil in Real Red for water line
*Sexy Curves Mascara by Rimmel in Extreme Black

*Started using a new mascara which I am hating. It doesn't lengthen at all. Doesn't even really hold a curl for me either. For me, it's also easy to get clumping too. When I say clumping here, I don't mean my lashes stick together I mean like clumps of product get applied to my lashes easily. I liked my old mascara better than this one, and it wasn't so great.

Lips:
Lined & Filled with Beautique Lip Pencil in Real Red
Mixed ELF Super Glossy Lip Shine in Angel with BFTE's Vixen for custom lip color.

Finished Look:

Thanks for looking! Hope you all are enjoying your weekend!

EOTD 04.24.11

Hi there.

This was my look for Easter. I was inspired by the vibrant colors of jelly beans! :D I don't honestly think this look is wearable, but it was so much fun! Thanks for looking!

Jelly Bean Eyes

All colors used were from the CS 88 original palette. Over NYX jumbo pencil in Milk.

I also ran over to Walgreens to take advantage of Wet N Wilds 69 cent sale. All their products that are regularly 99 cents are currently on sale till late May. Im not exactly sure of the date it ends. However the Walgreens closest to my home was picked pretty bare. I only got 3 things, two of which I wore with this look.  I got the black eyeliner pencil and this lippie.

This is 505A Light Berry Frost Lip Stick. Its a nice bright fuchsia with a blue sparkle! Very pretty. Im happy with the feel of it on my lips. Its very creamy, however I can't vouch for the longevity of the wear as I didn't wear it very long.
Close up for sparkle!

I hope you all had a great weekend! I've been playing a TON of Rift lately, and before that I had houseguests for about 2 weeks. Hopefully, I will get back into the swing of things. I have a lot of posts planned. I am also gearing up for a giveaway at 100 followers, or around there. Picking out lots of cute things for you guys! Talk to you all soon!

EOTD 03.04.11

Hey there. I just wanted to share my pin-uppie type look for today. I wanted something neutral and pretty to go with my bold red lippie and this seemed to work really well. I absolutely ADORE this palette. It came out this winter with a few other palettes and the pigmentation and smoothness of the shadows I have been getting from them lately have made me fall in love with Wet n Wild all over again.

I used the lightest cream shade (located in the upper left) for all over the lid & packed on under the brow for the high light. I blended the medium golden brown shade (located middle right) from the outer corner lid to the inner 2/3. The crease color was the darkest shade in the palette (located at the bottom right) and I blended that into the crease and up to the highlight shade. Used a dark winged liner for this and I think it turned out pretty great for a nice brown smokey eye.

Wet n Wild Kitty

A brief review of Wet n Wild in general:
In revamping their formulas, and updating their image, they aren't just affordable, they are holding their own to MUCH more expensive companies out there. Not everything is a WIN, per se,  but certainly more now than ever! During these rough financial times, that is something I for one can be grateful for! I hate the stigma that you have to spend a small (or large one for that matter) fortune to get good quality, high pigmented makeup that does what it claims to do.

Mini-Review: Wet'N'Wild Stoplight Red

Just wanted to talk to you quickly about red lipstick. I know.. You all have your favorites out there, but I have always been too terrified to wear red lipstick. I have SUPER fair cool toned skin, and I've always been jealous of those darker skinned beauties in their scarlet lips. I recently came across a decent b1g1 1/2 off sale at my local Fred Meyer (who also has every wet'nwild palette known to man right now too!yay!) and decided to try this blue based red I found. It is #911D or Stoplight Red.

From what I've seen it's suppose to be a pretty decent dupe of Mac's Ruby Woo.
My Rockin' Red Lips!(Taken with flash)

Its definitely not as drying as Ruby Woo. I'm actually really loving the color. Even on my fair skin it looks rather nice <3 Great find for right before Valentines day. I know I will be sporting this beauty on the 14th.. What will you be wearing on your puckered lips this Monday?

Happy Birthday To Me!

Well.. my *garbled/muffled age* birthday just came to an end. Thanks so much to my family who made it so nice! I just got done playing DJ Hero 2 (I got the first one on my last birthday) and its just as much fun as the first one, if not more so. I love that you have a lot more ability to mix things yourself. But I still think it's missing a "create your own DJ" feature as well as I don't like that they pulled back on the ability to customize your tables as much. Thanks mucho to my hubby who got it for me.

We went out to dinner (yummy Italian food), and I was in a hurry to get out the door. Did a really super fast EOTBD (eye of the birth-day! lol) today. Here I've used Face Candy Couture shadow in Seed all over the eyelid and as under eyeliner and then added the darkest shade of brown from the Wet'nWild Golden Goddess palette in a "c" shape in the outer corner & in the crease. The lightest cream/off white shade from this palette was also used as the highlight.

Happy Birthday to me!
