EOTD 06.28.11 Lemon Chaos

Well hello there Ladies & Gents,

I have today, for your beautiful little eyeballs, a look that was inspired by the summer time-like weather we've been having lately. I'm back from my little family vaca, and I had a good time. I melted like a Popsicle in July, but hey.. I like my rain most of the time just fine thank you. I have fair skin, and I'm a gamer.. so naturally the sun often frightens me. I gave in to a tropical look, the colors were inspired by the tee shirt I wanted to wear. It has BRIGHT yellow & Pink triangles on it (and butterflys!) , I didn't use any pink in my look, instead I took the orangey color from where the yellow and pink met to be my inspiration. Hope you enjoy!

Funny Face to make ya giggle!

What I used:
BFTE Lemon - Lid Inner 1/2
BFTE Chaos - Lid Outer 1/2
Face Candy Couture Caribbean Dream - Crease
Maybelline Quad Stylish Smokes #06 Amethyst Smokes, matte white shade - Highlight
BFTE Crystal - Highlight sparklies & tear duct area

So... whats new with you guys? Did I miss anything fun or exciting while I was gone? Do any of you have any plans for the 4th of July? Have you gotten anything new and summery I should know about? Later gators!

EOTD 06.15.11

OMG Zombies!!!!!! Thats what I felt like going with today. I recently splatter painted my nails with a blood type pattern (as seen below) in my excitement for the new season of True Blood to start and I just felt like doing something Zombie inspired today.
I used LA Colors color craze in White & Zoya Isla to create this mani

Now I wanted this to be fairly wearable. I was going to a couple appointments today and I didn't wanna actually look TOO scary. Just INSPIRED by zombies, not to actually look like one. Today, anyway. >.< LoL. So, this is what I've used for this look:

Geek Chic- Ugghhh... Brains -all over lid & blended inside crease
Face Candy Couture- Leaves - Crease
Geek Chic- Galactically Banned Ale - outside edge of lid blended into lid color
BFTE- Butt Naked- Highlight

Indoor/Artificial Light

Natural Light

So what's been inspiring your looks lately? Are any of you excited for the new season of True Blood? I am reading the books also, I'm currently on book #6 Definitely Dead, so I'm ahead of the TV show, but only about half way through the current book series. I can say for sure that while similar, you get a lot of major differences between the books and show, It's kinda neat, since I'm really enjoying both to get 2 different stories with the same characters. It makes things interesting.  Hope you are all enjoying your week!

On a personal note: I'm going away this weekend so I'll be gone roughly 4 days or so. My brother in law is returning from another tour in Afghanistan this weekend so we will be welcoming him home. I'm sure his 2 little ones are super excited to have Dad home just in time for fathers day. :)

EOTD 06.13.11 Frakkin Glass Cannon

Heres a quickie post for you guys today! :D Another look featuring the fab Geek Chic Cosmetics. Loving these colors together. And I really love how the colors are winged out at the outside edge of the eye for this one. :D

I achieved this look using :

Geek Chic- Glass Cannon- all over lid & inner half of underline
Geek Chic- Frakkin Toaster- Crease & outer half of underline
BFTE- Butt Naked- Highlight
Geek Chic- Mana Battery- inner corner sparkly

So I have to say I never thought I'd enjoy a baby blue as much as I loved this. Its very cool looking. Especially when paired with something dark and smokey. So what do you guys think? I've also been hauling some OHWTO lately. Trying out the black magic soap... so we'll see how that goes. Loving the scent sticks I got. My favorite has to be Carnivale, and best of all my husband loves it too!

Have you tried OHWTO? Is there anything I MUST smell when she gets back up and running? (I currently have coven, carnivale, pink lady, vanillology1 & yuzu) Thanks for stopping by! *hugs*

BFTE for Zach's Friends

This is such an important message to spread. Please share this with your family, friends and anyone you know. This can be prevented! The more we openly speak about it, the less chance someone feels as if they are alone. Suicide effects more than just the person choosing to leave this world too early, it effects EVERY SINGLE person they've touched throughout their life.

BFTE has decided to start making new makeup colors to go towards worthy causes.

It started last week with with 2 new colors to benefit Zach's Friends The two colors can be found on the BFTE  website.
Here is a note from Zach's Mom-

On April 8th, 2011 our lives were forever changed when we lost our beloved son, Zachary.

Zachary was a funny, energetic, loving son...who also battled depression.

On April 8th Zachary ended his life.

While no one likes to talk about suicide, it's time we start talking and raising awareness. By educating ourselves and others we can start to recognize the warning signs and what we can do to help someone in need.

According to the CDC a life is lost to suicide every 15 minutes, that's approximately 95 lives EACH DAY! That statistic is astounding and is reason enough to start talking. We need to equip ourselves and our children with the right resources to help others.

Like most families walking the same path we are, we had no clue our son was going to end his life that day, however, we refuse to stay silent. We want to do everything we can to raise awareness.

In our efforts to raise awareness we had Friend of Zach bracelets created to help raise awareness about suicide prevention.

While we are not professionals, we hope that our story and our ambition to help others will be contagious and that people will wear their bracelets not only as a reminder of a wonderful young man who's life was cut too short, but a reminder that we can make a difference.

We can make a difference!

A common misconception is that "If I talk about suicide to my kids then I'll give them the idea to do it." That is simply not true. Suicide is portrayed in movies, on TV, and in the news...it's better for you to educate them rather than their friends or television.

We MUST talk to our kids about this...if for no other reason, so they know what to do if a situation arises with one of their friends.

In the weeks since our son passed we have handed out (at no charge to students, parents and communities) over 1,000 bracelets with daily requests for more.

Your help is sincerely appreciated!

Melissa Jones (Zach's Mom)

**Please take the time to visit Zach's Friends now. Read the information they have there, you can donate directly, purchase a bracelet, or visit BFTE and 50% of the profits for those colors get donated, or donate your time or efforts locally. If you can't do that just talk about it to anyone who will listen. Especially those closest to you. **

Thank you so much for reading. This is something that I truly believe in.
